Skakel is a New Orleans based artist and fabricator, specializing in minimal and abstract design. She graduated in May 2016 from the University of Vermont with a degree in Studio Art, and spent the following fall at Yestermorrow Design and Build School studying fine furniture making and woodworking. She currently builds furniture professionally. In her visual art, Skakel works both three dimensionally, utilizing metal and wood, as well as two dimensionally, making prints and photographs.
